Becky Junkin was born and grew up in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. She was creative at an early age, later graduating from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 2007. As a girl she was often immersed in nature, prowling the countryside and travelling the high seas on camping trips to remote islands on the South Shore of N.S. These experiences fueled an ongoing fascination with, and reverence for, the natural world; expressed through her acrylic and watercolour painting. Additionally, Becky is interested in the comic arts, as well as portraiture and fantastical subjects.
Her work has been exhibited in a number of solo and group shows in Halifax and Dartmouth, and in various towns on the South Shore of N.S. She currently lives and works in Halifax, creating artwork in her home studio.
